Summary
Many users will find this is the only keyword that they have to edit directly, since it allows formatting styles to be added to the five levels of index references. This keyword specifies the characters to be placed in front of text from each level of the index -- usually the paragraph style to be used when formatting each level.
Example (n/a)
No example is available for this feature.

Syntax (SVNNA)
level:n
Specifies that the characters from text precede the letter headings.
1..5  Specifies which level of heading the characters from text precede.
text:s

The text (usually a style tag name) to be placed in front of the text for each level of index reference. This must be entered in Arbortext APP show string format, using '[' and ']' characters in place of the '<' and '>' characters which appear in the edit bar. A maximum of thirty nine characters can be used. To make each 'Level 4' entry in the index use the `IxLev4' style, you would edit your index control stream to include the line, level4,"[IxLev4]".
